There are three even numbers on each die (2, 4, & 6).  You have a 50-50 chance of rolling one of these numbers on a single die.  This can also be written as 1/2.

The chance of getting on even number on two dice is therefore 1/2 x 1/2… which is 1/4, or 25%.
